John Osborn - Sound of Thought 11

It was in 1993 in John’s home city London that he cut his techno teeth at early techno party’s such as Andrew Weatheralls’ Sabresonic and Steve Bicknells’ Lost. It was also at this time that he started to DJ.
John moved to Berlin in 1999, and it was here that his dj career started to intensify. John has now been djing for over 15 years and has crafted a deep dubby, house and techno style which has been turning heads and shaking asses on the international circuit. From his well documented sets at Berlin’s Panorama Bar to exquisite podcasts for Get The Curse, mmnmlssgs, Modyfier and Little White Earbuds, the world has woken up with his unique sound. In a time when artists rely heavily productions to steer their DJ careers, the power, groove and intensity of John’s DJ sets have allowed him to have won over the masses without releasing a million mediocre records. In Berlin John has been curating the successful TANSTAAFL NIGHTS and has invited artists such as Dj Qu, Patrice Scott, XDB, Keith Worthy, Adam Marshall, Steffi, Kassem Mosse, Iron Curtis, MCDE, Scuba, Eric Cloutier, Jonsson/Alter, Appleblim, 2562, Move D, Quarion, Anton Zap, The Analogue Cops, Frank Martiniq, Yossi Amoyal. John is also a resident at the Sub:stance Panorama Bar parties where he has crafted many magical sets, such as the last session back to back with SCB.
The party’s that John curates are based on the his recently launched record label TANSTAAFL RECORDS – run together with his partner October. This label is the first ever Bristol and Berlin based record label, showcasing each city’s rich musical heritage. October and John plan to release in late 2012 a new sub label named TANSTAAFL PLANETS with high profile releases from their circle of close artists and friends. TANSTAAFL’S first ever release has given John a underground smash with ‘Epoch4′ bouncing of the walls in clubs all over the world. In september 2012 John will release his second record on TANSTAAFL together with October and on the sub label John will share a split 12″ with Underground Quality’s Tazz. Also the Berlin Based label JackOff will be releasing a 12″ by John called Lords Of The last Days, with a remix from Quarion.
